Vimal impressed us with his outstanding performance in films like ‘Pasanga’. In fact, the film is a big standout for the actor, who made a good debut. Later the actor managed to woo us down with his performance in ‘Kalavani’ followed by doing justice to his character in ‘Thoonga Nagaram’. Now he is up with the film titled ‘Eththan’. The film is about a youngster who keeps borrowing money from various people in the town to start a business and decides to give it back with interest. But things don’t go as planned.
The film is directed by Suresh, a debutant has chosen an innovative concept, but the way he takes the film with his writing becomes too flimsy. Vimal has got a good market and he has been drawing more crowds to the theatre. Well on the first note, he has drawn the audiences with this film as well. But how far, the audiences will keep themselves intact during the show is a billion dollar question.
The film has a wafer-thin storyline about Sathya (Vimal), who wants to achieve something bigger with his life by endeavoring with a business. While he manages to use the borrowed money for the sake of business with the plans of returning it back to the lenders, his friends disappoint him by turning down the business with bad results. On the process, he comes across a beautiful homely girl (Sanusha) and unexpectedly, situations force them to come together.
The first half of the film is quite interesting for the characterizations and hilarious elements included in the screenplay. But as the story proceeds to the second half, everything gets devastated and the bad credit goes to the director Suresh.
Technically, there is nothing much to appreciate about the film and it’s a average drama on whole.
